He has been admitted to Makerere Univesity and is studying Bachelor of Nursing. His career aspiration is to become a Nurse and work in one of the hospitals in his country (South Sudan) to save lives. He also aspires to become the Minister of Health where he will have the opportunity to improve on health policies of his country. After gaining some experience in the field as a Nurse, David wants to further his education in Human Medicine and Surgery. He believes that The MCF Scholars Program will make his dreams to become true and he is blessed to be part of this most exciting Program.
Abacha Isaac Sonne is the sixth and last born in the family. His father was a UPDF Solider but he is deceased. He was sponsored by Emmaus Foundation throughout his secondary school. This support enabled him to study at Bishop Cipriano Kihangire Secondary School where he sat for his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education and scored 17 points. While at his school, he served as an altar boy in the Catholic Church. He believes The MCF Scholars Program has enabled him to access university education. He sees himself as a successful Pharmacist in Uganda after his undergraduate education.
Galiku Denis is the first born out of eight children in the family. His mother is a market vendor and she has been very instrumental in his education ever since their father died. He attended Kampala Secondary School where he sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agriculture and scored 18 points. He is ambitious and wants to set up the biggest, advanced and well facilitated research institute in partnership with big investors having its headquarters in UGANDA and various branches allover AFRICA and OVERSEAS, tackling various fields of medicine and health to aid in research and diagnosis of the various epidemics and infectious diseases like Ebola and Marburg for the best solution in treatment, for Africans to have a good life which definitely starts with good health. Apart from academics, Dennis enjoys reading inspirational books from successful mentors like; “THINK BIG” by Dr Ben Carson, “WOMEN’S FREEDOM” by Mwalimu Julius Nyerere among others, socializing with friends, music dance and drama, and swimming to relieve stress.

Nasaazi Florence is the second born out of three children. Both parents are deceased, but she is being cared for by her aunt who is her guardian. Florence attended Gombe Secondary School where she studied Mathematics, Physics and Economics and sat for her Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations and scored 14 points. She received a scholarship from FAWE Uganda that enabled her to complete her secondary education. She is a devoted christian who has faith in God and believes after her three year degree programme, she sees herself working for the Anti-terrorist Unit of Uganda. Florence also looks forward to helping children in her family and community to attain university education.
Adur Hilda is the first born out of the six children in the family. Her parents’ main source of income is subsistence farming. She is among the few girls who have attained the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in her village.
Hilda went to St. Katherine Secondary School in Lira District where she sat for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations in Physics, Economics, Mathematics and ICT and obtained 14 points. While at St. Katherine Secondary school, she was an active member of the Debating Club and was appointed a Counselor of the Science class. Hilda is an inspiration to young girls in her village.
She sees herself as a successful Software Engineer and an independent lady.In future, she wants to support the youth of her village to attain University Education.
Arinaitwe Bonita is the third born of six children. She lost both parents at an early age when she was in primary school. She has been assisted by her maternal aunt Mrs. Musinguzi Jovita who is a Food Vendor in Rukungiri market. Bonita was able to obtain 17 points at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in Bwanga High School in Rukungiri District in 2012 because she worked at school and during holidays to raise part of her fees. Two of her siblings dropped out of school at secondary level and she is the first in the family to join university. Bonita was admitted to Makerere University in academic year 2013/2014 but could not join because she did not have the funds. The MCF Program at Makerere University will enable her to achieve her goal. She will be able to get employment in an organization where she will work on records. She wants to become self reliant and be able to take care of her siblings and make contributions to the development of her community in Rukungiri District.
Musanyana Jonah is the second born of the three children. He lost both parents while he was in primary school and his aunt who is a farmer took over the responsibility of his education. Jonah went to Kira College Butiiki where he sat for both Uganda Certificate of Education and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and was a member of Scouts Club and obtained 16 points. Jonah’s career aspiration is to become a Computer Engineer. Apart from improving the standard of living of his house hold, he also desires to help the Children in streets and in orphanages in the future.

5.0 COLLEGE OF NATURAL SCIENCES
Katusiime Justine is the second born in the family of eight children. Her parents are peasant farmers in Kibaale District. Because of Justin’s excellent academic performance, her aunt Mrs. Turyamureeba Gertrude sponsored her for secondary education. Justine studied Physics, Economics and Mathematics at Kings College Budo in Wakiso District and obtained 17 points. While in Kings College Budo she served as a Roll Call Prime. She chose to apply for Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geo-science and Production because of the discovery of oil in the Albertine region of Uganda and the few Ugandan experts in the relevant profession to work in the oil industry. She believes she is an inspiration to the young people of her village.
Ninsiima Esther is the third born of five children. Her mother is a grade V Teacher and the father is a peasant farmer. She went to Bweranyangi Girls’ Secondary School on Directors’ scholarship because of her excellent academic performance. She studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and ICT and obtained 15 points. While at her high school, she served as the Deputy Head Girl in charge of Academics and Time Management and the President of the Science Club. Esther’s career goal is to become a Quality Manager in an oil exploration, extraction and distribution company. Esther is an inspiration to many youth of her community who have not yet joined the university.
Mamer David is a refugee currently living in Uganda in Zaipi camp located in Adjumani District. He comes from Jonglei State, in Bor about 50km away from the capital city of Juba, South Sudan. He has been supported throughout his education by compassionate people. David went to St. Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende where he sat for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and ICT and obtained 15 points. While at secondary school, he participated in sports activities but was more interested in football. Since his primary school, he has dreamt of becoming an Engineer who will provide expertise in exploiting minerals in South Sudan. David developed the inspiration for the Engineering profession in 2005 when he paid a visit to Bentua, one of the mineral rich places in South Sudan and was shocked to see no country mate participating in the mining activities. Being in one of the best universities in the African continent and with holistic support from the MCF Scholars Program, David’s career aspiration will become a reality.
Sekyanzi Joseph is the third born of the seven children. His parents died when he was a little boy. He went to Masuliita Secondary School in Wakiso District where he studied Biology, Agriculture, Geography and Sub-math and obtained 16 points. Both his ordinary and advanced secondary education was funded by the Government of Uganda under the Universal Secondary Education (USE) and Universal Post Ordinary Level Learning and Training (UPLATE). Joseph and his siblings were able to cultivate their land in order to provide for their food and scholastic materials. He served as a Vice Chairperson of the Science Club in his former school. Joseph’s career aspiration is to become a Conservation Biologist and make contribution towards environmental sustainability.

6.0 COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Muwanguzi Enoch is the second born of four children in the family. His parents are peasant farmers in Mityana District. Enoch went to Central College Mityana where he sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations in Physics, Economics, Mathematics and ICT and obtained 16 points. During vacations of secondary education, he collected scrap and sold for a few shillings which he used to support himself with scholastic materials. With the skills and knowledge that he will acquire through Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering, Enoch wants to make contribution towards the mechanization of agriculture in Uganda and would like to work in the private sector as a Consultant in Agricultural Engineering.
Kikurohoki Richard is the third born in a family of six. He was raised by his mother single handedly after the death of the father. The mother is a tailor in Hoima District.
He went to St. Andrea Kaachwo’s College for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education and he studied Geography, Economics and Agriculture and obtained 16 points. While at secondary school, he served as an Academic Prefect. Richard’s career goal is to become the Minister of Agriculture in Uganda with an aim of promoting sustainable agricultural development. Agriculture is the back bone of Uganda’s economy and Richard believes that his degree in Agricultural Rural Innovation will enable him to make contribution towards the transformation of the Agricultural sector in Uganda.
Adhieu Santino came to Uganda in 2004 as a refugee after losing both parents and joined Supiri Primary School where he completed his primary education. He is the six born of eight and the only one who has attended school. Santino has been financially supported by relatives for his education. He went to St. Joseph’s College Ombaci in Arua for his ordinary level from 2006 – 2009. He immediately went back to South Sudan and returned to Uganda in 2012 and joined Standard High School Zzana for his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education where he studied Agriculture, Economics and Geography and obtained 15 points. After his degree programme from Makerere University, Santino wants to become a South Sudan Development Actor who will make contribution towards modernization of agriculture.
Mulumba Matia is the six born of eight. After the death of both parents, he started living with his grandmother. He went to primary school on the Universal Primary Education (UPE) and was on scholarship throughout his secondary education.
Matia did casual work during holidays to raise funds for scholastic material and upkeep. He went to St. Charles Secondary School in Ntungamo District where he sat for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations in Mathematics, Agriculture and Economics and obtained 14 points. While at secondary school, he participated in debates and sports. In 2012, when there was an outbreak of Ebola epidemic in Kibale District, Matia volunteered under the Uganda Red Cross to sensitize the population and he provided his labor to build temporary structure for the Ebola victims. Matia will use the knowledge and skills acquired from this programme of study to improve the welfare of the farmers in his community by advising them on the modern methods of farming and value addition.

7.0 COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE, ANIMAL RESOURCES AND
Namuyanja Sarah is the second born of three in a family of three children. The parents are market vendors in Masanafu, Kampala city. Although her parents did not attend school, they worked hard in addition to getting loans in order to clear school fees. Sarah went to St. Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende in Wakiso District for her advanced secondary education. She offered Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry and was able to obtain 14 points. While at secondary school, she participated in music, dance and drama which was used to raise funds for the needy. Her career goal is to become a Cardiologist in order to serve people who have heart complications. Her role model is Dr. Kiyingi who is a famous Ugandan Cardiologist based in Australia. After an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Sarah wants to enrol for a Masters degree in Medicine and specialise in Cardiology.
