Children’s Social Services (or equivalent) has lead responsibility for investigating all allegations or suspicions of abuse where there are concerns about a child. Adult Social Care (or equivalent) has lead responsibility for investigating all allegations or suspicions of abuse where there are concerns about a vulnerable adult.

Where an allegation suggests that a criminal offence may have been committed then the police should be contacted as a matter of urgency.

Where working outside of the UK, concerns will be reported to the appropriate agencies in the country in which we operate, and their procedures followed, and in addition we will report concerns to our agency’s headquarters.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

We will review this statement and our policy and procedures annually.

Fees are payable in advance annually or termly on the first day of term. Alternatively, settlement may be by arrangement in twelve monthly standing order payments commencing on 20th August each academic year, or in the month preceding your child’s start date.

Costs for other services not covered by school fees are invoiced. Charges for optional activities will normally be advised in writing as necessary with payment details/guidelines.

The School accepts gifts, donations and covenanted giving arrangements from parents, guardians and companies. As a registered Charity the School is able to claim tax benefits from the Gift Aid Scheme for donations from qualifying individuals.

The Highfield Preschool is a registered Early Years Foundation Stage unit, and accepts payment from various voucher schemes. Details of Preschool fees are available on request.

Reminder: Please note that in the event that a parent or guardian chooses to withdraw their child or children from the School, the notice period of a full school term is required in writing to the Principal. Alternatively, a terms fee in lieu of such notice will be charged.

The King’s School is situated in Ambrose Lane next to the Shire Hospital on the outskirts of Harpenden. From St Albans, pass through the centre of Harpenden and, after you pass under the disused railway bridge, turn right into Hillside Road. At the top of the hill turn left onto Ambrose Lane.
